It's not entirely clear which "bridge" your question refers to, so apologies for the TL;DR reply.

If you're asking about the channel that this proposal would open, then yes, it's the standard one required to securely move a native token between Parachains. In this case, the LAOS token would become transferable to Hydration.

If you're referring to the pattern that LAOS uses to scale other blockchains, such as Ethereum, then it's completely different from traditional bridges.

Bridges are external components that need to be operated and maintained to connect two separate consensus systems. For example, Ethereum Layer 2s rely on multiple actors (typically centralized, managed by a small group) to periodically report the state of the L2 back to Ethereum, sequence transactions read from Ethereum, etc. This introduces serious security risks (I highly recommend checking https://l2beat.com/scaling/risk).

Another example is Snowbridge, which connects Polkadot to Ethereum, and which is, instead, fully trustless and decentralized. However, it still requires ongoing maintenance, and sustainable financial incentives will be crucial for its long-term viability.

In sharp constrast: with Bridgeless Minting, no bridge needs to be maintained. No extra trust assumptions are required. No separate infrastructure is needed. DApps only need access to both consensus systems (e.g., Ethereum and LAOS), with relying on anyone maintaining additional off-chain components.
