Dear Hydration Community,
I am zengsw. About two months ago, I made a foolish mistake. I borrowed 12,000 USDT on the Hydartion network and, without performing a cross-chain transfer, directly deposited it into Binance’s Polkadot Asset Hub network. As a result, I have been unable to credit the funds to my account to this day.
The detailed sequence of events can be found at this link:

After the incident occurred, I engaged in a long and difficult communication process with Binance, but unfortunately, Binance is unable to recover this deposit.
Subsequently, I received tremendous support from the Hydration community, particularly with Jose’s strong backing. We initiated a referendum: https://hydration.subsquare.io/referenda/21, aiming to utilize the “forceTransfer”function to retrieve the 12,000 USDT. While this didn’t require Binance to technically restore my deposit, the community, including myself, considers the “forceTransfer”function a highly exceptional and serious matter. Therefore, it necessitates Binance’s awareness and consent as the owner of the asset. I engaged in another intense and lengthy communication with Binance spanning over ten days, but regrettably, they still couldn’t provide any support, ultimately leading to the referendum being voted down and rejected.
Regarding this outcome, I have no complaints because the primary responsibility for the error lies with me. I am also deeply grateful to the Hydration Chinese and English communities for their tremendous support. However, it is truly regrettable that for the past two months, I have indeed made significant efforts in communicating with Binance, but they have ultimately provided no assistance. I cannot comprehend why Binance has become like this.
These 12,000 USDT are indeed very important to me personally. To be honest, I have completely lost hope of gaining Binance’s effective support. Therefore, I sincerely request the Hydration community to help me once again by initiating another “forceTransfer” referendum. My personal thoughts are as follows:
Regarding the lock-up period, if a year is deemed insufficient, I believe it could be extended. I simply feel that the 12,000 USDT, while Binance bears responsibility to assist users and possesses the capability and means to retrieve the asset, currently and for a considerable time to come, remains a black hole, a confirmed loss. Placing it within Hydration, on the other hand, instills me with ample confidence, regardless of the duration of the lock-up.
Once again, I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by my personal error and am truly grateful for the consistent support and assistance provided by the Hydration community. If any additional information is required, I will do my utmost to provide it in detail.
Thank you for considering my request,
Zengsw
These are some communication screenshots with Binance (just a small part of them). In a week, I estimate that I’ve emphasized my main issue to Binance at least 100 times, but it seems that the Binance customer service team hasn’t even grasped the problem. It’s truly disappointing! Including up to now, I’m still continuing to communicate with Binance, waiting for their response, but I’ve lost all hope in them. Therefore, I have no choice but to once again request the help of the hydration community here.
Apart from the above-mentioned plan, I have thought of another solution, and the specific steps are as follows:
Technically, we have many ways to prove that the wallet addresses 7P9y4pUmp5SJ4gKK3rFw6TvR24eqW7jVoyDs8LPunRYcHuzi and 16ZQnKNNbkLWDyq5zJqSJhAeJVeK3a4hviKbNGswcZ5tZgZW are the same, so Binance won’t have any issues, and my assets will be credited into my Binance account.
Jose once gave me an address and asked me to transfer 1.355049. I tried to make a withdrawal from my Binance wallet three times, but each time it was transferred out through a hot wallet. The hot wallet address is 13vg3Mrxm3GL9eXxLsGgLYRueiwFCiMbkdHBL4ZN5aob5D4N.
Now I can ask some of my friends to help me do some testing by withdrawing DOT from Binance using the Polkadot Asset Hub network, to see if it’s also transferred out from this wallet 13vg3Mrxm3GL9eXxLsGgLYRueiwFCiMbkdHBL4ZN5aob5D4N. If it is, it would prove that my wallet address belongs to Binance, right?
Someone suspects that my Binance deposit address, 16ZQnKNNbkLWDyq5zJqSJhAeJVeK3a4hviKbNGswcZ5tZgZW, is not a Binance address. This is actually quite easy to verify with supporting evidence. I have conducted multiple tests and found that if DOT is sent to 16ZQnKNNbkLWDyq5zJqSJhAeJVeK3a4hviKbNGswcZ5tZgZW, Binance will automatically transfer it to its hot wallet, 13vg3Mrxm3GL9eXxLsGgLYRueiwFCiMbkdHBL4ZN5aob5D4N, within a certain time frame (not more than 5 minutes). This includes withdrawals, which are also transferred from this hot wallet. If I can find multiple Binance users to conduct deposit and withdrawal tests and prove that their addresses are related to the hot wallet 13vg3Mrxm3GL9eXxLsGgLYRueiwFCiMbkdHBL4ZN5aob5D4N, this would demonstrate that my account is indeed part of Binance.
Check the detailed transaction records for the address 13vg3Mrxm3GL9eXxLsGgLYRueiwFCiMbkdHBL4ZN5aob5D4N. It has actually been marked as strongly associated with Binance, which can prove that 13vg3Mrxm3GL9eXxLsGgLYRueiwFCiMbkdHBL4ZN5aob5D4N is indeed a hot wallet address of Binance. This evidence can also help to verify that my address 16ZQnKNNbkLWDyq5zJqSJhAeJVeK3a4hviKbNGswcZ5tZgZW belongs to Binance as well.
Jose once provided an address with a random amount of 1.355049 DOT. I tried to transfer directly from my Binance deposit address 16ZQnKNNbkLWDyq5zJqSJhAeJVeK3a4hviKbNGswcZ5tZgZW, but after testing three times, the transfers were all made through this hot wallet 13vg3Mrxm3GL9eXxLsGgLYRueiwFCiMbkdHBL4ZN5aob5D4N.
The above supplementary materials, in my personal opinion, are sufficient to prove that the address 16ZQnKNNbkLWDyq5zJqSJhAeJVeK3a4hviKbNGswcZ5tZgZW belongs to Binance. I am very aware that in order to use the “forceTransfer” function to refund my 12k usdt, the community requires Binance to provide on-chain proof of awareness and agreement to the refund. However, after a difficult and lengthy communication process, it is indeed challenging to obtain support from Binance. Therefore, I kindly urge the community to consider the following proposal:
Technically, we have many ways to prove that the wallet addresses 7P9y4pUmp5SJ4gKK3rFw6TvR24eqW7jVoyDs8LPunRYcHuzi and 16ZQnKNNbkLWDyq5zJqSJhAeJVeK3a4hviKbNGswcZ5tZgZW are the same, so Binance won’t have any issues, and my assets will be credited into my Binance account.
